Nutraceuticals in Neurodegeneration and Aging
20 - 21st August 2015, Singapore
(Satellite meeting to the 25th ISN-13th APSN Biennial Meeting, Cairns, 2015)
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We are very delighted and honored to invite you to a Satellite Meeting to be held in Singapore, on 20– 21st August 2015, entitled “Nutraceuticals in Neurodegeneration and Aging”.
Age-related neurodegenerative diseases, such as stroke, vascular dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease have major impact on the socioeconomic well-being of populations worldwide. Great strides have been made toward identifying potential mechanisms of these diseases, but effective treatments have remained elusive. With the growing interest in the use of natural products or herbal medicines for prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, there is an urgent need for new treatment approaches.
The overall goal of this satellite meeting is to gather expertise and interested individuals to critically examine different natural products, their mechanism of action, usage, and potential for development as nutraceuticals in the treatment/prevention of neurodegenerative diseases. Three major topics will be covered in the meeting: 1) nutraceuticals in stroke and dementia; 2) nutraceuticals in neurodegenerative diseases; and 3) nutraceuticals and neuroinflammation.
This satellite meeting to be held at the National University of Singapore is strategically important due to the long history of usage of natural products in medical practice in Asian countries. You are strongly encouraged to attend the 25th ISN-13th APSN main meeting in Cairns, Australia, after the satellite meeting.
Please feel free to send me an e-mail if you are interested to register, or find out more about the meeting.
